About

Project Air Mail | Idaho's Mailman of the Mountains

Host services: Flightsim.to

Project Air Mail is a project that consists of 4 private airstrips that aren't operational in MSFS database. Fly to and from these hidden airstrips in the mountains, explore the wilderness and fly at your own risk.

Inspired by the 'Flying the Mail in Remote Idaho' article and Trent Palmer flying to these remote strips (Videos 1 / 2 / 3 / 4). This last USPS mail route caters to over a dozen ranches in Idaho. Due to the fact that they don't have any ICAO's in real life, these are fake ICAO's. This route lies in the largest protected wilderness area in the United States, protected by the 'Wild and Scenic Rivers Act' and is surrounded by 2.2 million acres.

Each of these air strips are located deep in the mountains of Idaho located on a private ranches where normal unauthorized civilians cannot enter, only air mail. Custom built from the ground up, everything about this project is catered to bush flying to the steep mountain peaks to a short STOL grass strips where horses and chickens roam the paster. This is what you call a remote farmers life.
